USD account for freelancers: get paid in dollars with account details in your name

The Fasset USD account for freelancers gives you named account details for receiving dollars: incoming ACH payments are free, a dedicated USD IBAN costs $9.99 once and $0 a month, and a 0.35% FX fee applies when you send to a non-USD account; it is provided through Fasset Labuan Limited with a third-party provider and is not a bank account.

Risk warningNot financial advice. Crypto is highly volatile and may drop in value significantly. You may lose the amounts you invest and your investments do not benefit from any form of financial protection. USDT is a stablecoin issued by Tether. It isn't a bank deposit and isn't covered by a deposit guarantee scheme. The same applies to a USD account balance: read the risk disclosure for Fasset services.

What the Fasset USD account is, and what it is not

The Fasset USD account gives freelancers and remote workers who are paid from the United States account details in their own name: a US routing number and account number for ACH payments and, on request, a dedicated USD IBAN. A client or an employer pays those details as it pays any US supplier, and the money appears as a balance in the Fasset app.

It is not a bank account. The Global VIBAN Services terms on fasset.com say that your contract is with Fasset Labuan Limited, that the service is “powered by a third-party provider”, and that it is no part of the regulated or licensed activities of Fasset Labuan Limited. The terms do not name the provider.

No Fasset entity states a banking licence, so the balance is not a bank deposit and no deposit guarantee scheme covers it. The site does not say whether the balance is held as dollars at a partner institution or as USDT.

This page covers opening the account, receiving a payment, the costs and cashing out. For the mechanics behind account details and payment networks, read how a USD account works, with IBAN and ACH explained.

How getting paid works, from invoice to balance

Five steps take a payment from your client's bank to a balance you can use. Fasset's guides mention Upwork, Fiverr and Deel as sources of US payments: examples of payers, not partners of Fasset.

  1. Open the account in the app

First download the Fasset app for iPhone or Android, sign up and complete the identity check. The account opens from your phone.

  2. Request your account details

The account comes with a US routing number and an account number in your own name. A dedicated USD IBAN is optional: $9.99 once, no monthly fee, and the same details for every payment.

  3. Put the details on your invoice or platform

Add the account name, routing number and account number to your invoice, or enter them as the payout method on the platform that pays you. Copy and paste the numbers, and ask for the invoice number as the payment reference.

  4. Receive the payment

Your client pays from a US bank account by ACH. Fasset charges nothing to receive it. ACH works in batches, so the money arrives in business days, not in seconds.

  5. Hold, convert, pay out or spend

The payment shows in your balance. Keep it in dollars, send it on, pay it out locally in the two countries named below, buy USDT or top up the Fasset Card.

The money shows as a balance in the Fasset app, which is not a bank deposit. From the balance you can hold dollars, pay out locally in PKR or BDT, spend with the Fasset Card or convert to USDT. Fees and limits

Six charges are published for the USD account. Three items are not, and they are shown as to be confirmed: no figure is guessed.

The same figures sit beside the card and USDT charges: see USD account fees in the full schedule.

Amounts are in US dollars and come from two fasset.com guides, on the dedicated USD IBAN and on ACH payments, read on 6 October 2026.

Where you can cash out to a local account

Cashing out means converting dollars and sending them to an account or a mobile wallet in your own currency. The live site names two countries where this works instantly.

Everywhere else the USD account receives and holds dollars. You move them on by a transfer, by buying USDT or with the card.

As stated in fasset.com guides read on 6 October 2026. A route named on the live site says nothing about licensing in that country.

Who can open one and what you need

You open a USD account online with a phone, the app and an identity check. Where Fasset has not published a requirement, the row says so. Before you start, check who is behind Fasset.

How it compares with Payoneer, Wise and a local dollar account

Fasset's drawbacks, stated plainly: it is not a bank, an unnamed third-party provider powers the service, and local payouts are named for two countries only. If a protected bank deposit matters most to you, a dollar account at a bank in your country is the closer fit.

What you can do with the balance

Three routes are open from the USD account, each with a published cost.

Top up the Fasset Card. The card is a separate prepaid virtual Visa card that you top up in USDT and spend in US dollars. Issuance costs 9.99 USDT and the daily spending limit is 2,000 USD. See how to spend your balance with the Fasset Card.

Buy USDT. From your Cash Wallet you can buy USDT in the app. USDT is issued by Tether, not by Fasset. Which Fasset company sells it depends on where you live. In Dubai it is Fasset FZE, under VARA licence VL/23/07/002: see how to buy USDT in the UAE.

Send to another account. Dollars sent to a USD account involve no currency conversion. A send to an account in another currency carries the 0.35% FX fee.

Interest-free

No interest is paid or charged on your balance.

Fasset states one rule for all its accounts, services and investments: they are delivered without interest. A balance does not grow by sitting in the account, and no charge builds up on it.

Questions freelancers ask about USD accounts

Six questions about the Fasset product. General ones, such as whether you need a US address, are answered once in the guide to how USD account details and transfers work.

Other products are covered in the Fasset FAQ.

Who provides the Fasset USD account?

Fasset Labuan Limited is the company you contract with, and a third-party provider powers the service. The Global VIBAN Services terms on fasset.com say so and place the service outside the regulated or licensed activities of Fasset Labuan Limited. The provider is not named. It is not a bank account. See which Fasset entity provides each service.

Is my money protected?

Not by a deposit guarantee scheme. The Fasset USD account is not a bank account, the balance is not a bank deposit, and no Fasset entity states a banking licence. Fasset FZE's VARA licence does not cover the service. How the balance is held, and by which company, is still to be confirmed. Read about account security at Fasset.

How long does an ACH payment take to arrive?

Usually the same business day or one to two business days after your client sends it. That is the network's timetable, not a Fasset commitment. Nacha, which runs the ACH Network, says it settles payments four times a day, never on weekends or US federal holidays. Source: Nacha's guide to the ACH Network.

Does the USD account come with a card?

No. The Fasset Card is a separate prepaid virtual Visa card, provided by Fasset Labuan Limited, that you top up in USDT and spend in US dollars. You can fund it from your balance. Issuance costs 9.99 USDT, and the other Fasset Card fees and limits are on its own page.

Can I receive payouts from freelance platforms?

Yes, where the platform pays out to US account details by ACH. Fasset's guides mention Upwork, Fiverr and Deel as examples, which is not a partnership with any of them. Enter your routing and account number as the payout method, and check the platform's own rules first: each platform decides which accounts it pays.

What does the USD account cost in total?

$9.99 once for the dedicated USD IBAN, then $0 a month. Receiving an ACH payment is free, and so are transfers between your Cash Wallet and the IBAN. A send to an account in another currency costs 0.35%. A local payout of $500 or more has no withdrawal fee, and the fee below $500 is not published.

Regulatory disclosure

The Fasset USD account and the dedicated USD IBAN are offered under the Global VIBAN Services terms. Your contract is with Fasset Labuan Limited, a company incorporated in Labuan, Malaysia, and a third-party provider powers the service. The terms place it outside the regulated or licensed activities of Fasset Labuan Limited. No Labuan FSA licence number is published on fasset.com, and this page claims none.

Fasset FZE is licensed by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai for Broker-Dealer Services, licence VL/23/07/002. That licence covers broker-dealer activity in virtual assets carried on in or from Dubai. It does not cover the USD account, the card or banking. A USD account balance is not a bank deposit, and no deposit guarantee scheme applies to it.

This page is for information only and is not financial advice. Read the terms that apply to the USD account, or contact Fasset support about your own account. The Learn hub has more guides on getting paid across borders.
